Since polymer was chemically synthesized by Baekland in 1907, many kinds of polymers have been produced, but the concept of polymers proposed by Staudinger in 1926 has not been accepted yet in the academic world. When Carothers synthesized Nylon in 1933, he demonstrated the concept of the polymer. Thereafter, the mass production and mass consumption of polymers were over-whelmingly accepted by society. However, because of the global environmental problems occurring in the 1970s, people have come to notice that the mass production of plastic has led to their mass abandonment. Recently, global environmental problems have greatly influenced science and technology.
